The 42nd Plenary Meeting and Working Group Sessions of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) were held in Moscow on 26-30 May 2025. The People's Bank of China (PBOC) dispatched representatives to attend the meetings.
The meetings reviewed and approved revisions to the working group's mandate documents, the 2026 budget allocations, and the 2025-2026 work plan, among other relevant documents. The EAG decided to grant observer status to the African Export-Import Bank Group.
The meetings reviewed and adopted Turkmenistan’s second follow-up assessment report and set the schedule for the EAG’s third-round anti-money laundering assessments.
The plenary endorsed typology research reports, including Enhancing the Effectiveness of Asset Recovery, and was briefed on technical assistance provided to member states. During the sessions, representatives from the PBOC engaged in thematic discussions on China’s asset recovery efforts and measures to strengthen the effectiveness of the country’s anti-money laundering framework.
The 43rd EAG Plenary Meeting will take place in Belarus in November 2025.
